CranioSacral Therapy for Adults

The body wants to be straight, so we can orientate ourselves within space. It wants to be well aligned, so the impact of gravity on our body is minimised. It wants to be well hydrated, as about 80% of our body consists of fluid. It wants to be fed nutritious food, as these nutrients next to oxygin are our "fuel" to keep us going. Our body wants to be rested, so that nutrients can be distributed and waste products eliminated. It wants to be nurtured and listened to, so that we can look after ourselves on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. It wants to be given a purpose.
All this helps us to be healthy, energetic and fulfilled.
This is achieved or controlled by HOMEOSTASIS, an inbuilt mechanism that keeps all these areas in BALANCE.
If an area is out of balance and beyond help by selfregulating mechanisms we create a symptom, often physical, e.g an ache or pain.
I hear it so often from my clients "I know I should be doing...., but...!" or "I know I should be doing more of ...., but....!"
Does that sound familiar?
We all seem to recognise that there is a "knowing" as to what we should and should not do in order to stay healthy and well. Sometimes of course things are so muddled up on so many levels that it is hard to hear that inner voice that tells us what to do.
In Upledger CranioSacral Therapy we call this "knowing" the "Inner Pysician". The IP is as subtle as automatically healing a cut of the skin, without us consciously doing anything. It can be the little voice that tells us "oh it is time for a detox" or "I really need a change of career". If not listened to the body creates a symptom in order to be heard.
How does CST work?
CranioSacral Therapy is a wonderful way to decipher our body's language and communicate with the IP .
By detecting tension or restriction patterns held within the body, it can lead us to a purely structural problem or help us identify an underlying emotional or spiritual challenge, which together we can address.
Conditions treated are manifold:
back pain
recovery from an injury
support through pregnancy
antenatal and postnatal care
TMJ syndrome
and many more.
